+66-94-351-57-20 Most Phuket visitors tend to gravitate towards the island’s busy beach towns, about 40km to the south of the airport, chock-a-block with ‘you-could-be-anywhere’ hotels and thousands of sunbathers crowded onto the sand. But travellers in the know take a shorter drive north to the untouched sands of Natai Beach, and, if they’re especially savvy, into the elegant realm of Infinity Blue, a haven of peace and contemporary style with its toes in the sand.
Villa fresh, bright design sets a calming mood throughout, with crisp grey and white furnishings in soft fabrics and Buddhist themed décor accents. The villa’s single-storey pavilions and lush palm-lined gardens form a presence of unobtrusive luxury, fronted by a 15-metre swimming pool and the endless blue of sea and sky that give the villa its name.
No one gets short shrift when it comes to bedroom selection, as all four are similarly spacious and well appointed, and all have private ensuite bathrooms, TVs, comfy chairs and a choice of double or queen-sized beds. Gather in the cosy living area, which shares open-plan space with the dining room and opens to a sea-view terrace furnished for lounging and enjoying alfresco meals. Behind the dining room, a modern kitchen is well equipped for guests who wish to self-cater.
Daily continental breakfast is included in the villa rates and a private chef can be organised to prepare delicious in-villa Thai and western meals served with a personal touch (extra charges apply). A full-time housekeeper keeps the villa spick and span, and a villa manager – while not on site – is always contactable to help with guest transport, dining reservations, in-villa massage treatments and other requirements.
Just beyond the villa, Natai Beach offers an idyllic playground with its 10 kilometres of soft sands lining the glittering Andaman Sea. And within easy reach are the many delights of Phang Nga, including its karst-dotted bay to explore by boat, jungle parks, waterfalls and scenic rural landscapes of coconut palm plantations and meandering water buffalo. Natai is still very undeveloped compared to most other beach destinations around Phuket, but luxury resorts are starting to pop up within walking distance of the villa, offering upscale choices for dining and sunset cocktails.
